Golf is fun. Driving ranges are fun. Long-tossing empty kegs on a driving range surrounded by Maxim Caddies is even more fun.

Jeremy got his hands on a couple passes to the regional Coors Light/Maxim Golf Experience here in London. We weren’t quite sure what to expect. We knew ahead of time they’d be giving away at least one grand prize (all-expenses paid trip to BC for golf, beer, and parties). We decided ahead of time we’d throw together some ridiculous golf outfits just in case they gave one away for best dressed.

Unfortunately there didn’t end up being a prize for that. Pity - we would’ve won that for sure.

They had a few “holes” set up around the golf club that included shooting on a goalie with golf balls, driving at a giant blown-up can of coors light at the driving range, a closest-to-the-pin golf simulator contest, tossing empty kegs as far as you can and a few others. Oh, there was also a BBQ and free beer. And Maxim Caddies.

Yeah, we’re kind of big deals.

Anyway we’re having a good time there and then start the draw for the grand prize trip. They did it by pulling 10 names from all the ballots. Those 10 guys got to go on stage and were given a little silver container, one of which would be the winning trip (the rest were free six-packs). Jeremy was the last one called on stage.

Damn right he was! We had a 1 in 10 chance of winning a trip to BC baby! Unfortunately it was not to be, and we had to settle for a free six-pack. Bah-humbug!

It was definitely a fun way to spend a Thursday night. One of these days we’ll make it to the big show. Here are a few other pics from the day (all of them are up on Facebook):

The caddies who drew duties at the outdoor events were troopers. It was a chilly night and every one of them was freezing out there. I’m guessing they’re not allowed to cover up. Luckily, the party was moved all in doors around 11 or so.

I’m considering wearing that outfit to actually go golfing. This was me trying to ping the giant blowup coors light can that was about 150 yards out. I missed.

I think this is how golfing should always be

Jeremy on the golf simulator. We both got decent shots. Mine was 14 ft from the pin. The eventual winner (who got a golf bag) was 4 ft away.

I don’t think I’ll be making a Maxim cover anytime soon.
