I know I’m a little late jumping on the iPod boat but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m quite impressed with my new toy, the iPod Shuffle. Here are the specs:

Height: 1.07 inches

Width: 1.62 inches

Depth: 0.41 inch (including clip)

Weight: 0.55 ounce

1GB Flash Drive (holds up to 240 songs)

It sits on a tiny USB dock and charges automatically when its plugged into the computer. You can play your songs in either the order you put them on or shuffled. The clip is handy. It really does easily clip onto anything.

I had $90 in gift certificates to future shop, and this is where it went. I got one that was “out of box” which means that it was either returned or a display model. It saved $10 of the $89.99 sticker price and got me a 2-year service guarantee for $5. Nice.

Anyway, as you can tell I’m pretty impressed with my little shuffle. I’d recommend it for anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced mp3 player that doesn’t need to hold one billion trillion gazillion songs.

Yesterday U2 played one of their four sold-out concerts in Toronto and myself, along with Jeremy (seen on the right with Maggie in the most embarrassing photo I could locate) were there with bells on. We had standing area tickets which are right on the floor… where the mighty Toronto Maple Leafs would be skating should it not be covered with flooring and a couple thousand U2 fans.

The concert was great. It was a mix of their big hits like Elevation, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Vertigo, City of Blinding Lights, Beautiful Day, With or Without You, etc, etc and some positive human rights messages. My personal favourite for the evening was the one Bono wrote for his father: Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own.

We didn’t have a camera there but we are working on getting the pics from someone who did, as we were about 10 feet away from the whole band at various points. I’ll be sure to share some should they make their way to me.

If you get a chance to see U2, do it.
